DataMAPt, Inc. Public:DataMAPt Appliance- Network Configuration Setting up your network

DataMAPt appliances come with DHCP enabled by default. In some situations where DHCP is not enabled or for other reasons you may wish to change the configuration. You may also wish to change DNS servers so that your monitoring hostnames resolve correctly. 

We recommend leaving the configuration to DHCP under most situations. 


Log in to Webmin

  1. Go to https://<ipaddress>:10000 where IP address is the current IP of your DataMAPt appliance. 
    Note: The current IP address can be found on your networks DHCP server. The appliance should have a hostname "DataMAPt-Monitor".

  2. Enter the username 'dmiread' and password. The default password is DataMAPt.

Changing to Static IP Network Configuration

  1. In Webmin, select Networking > Network Configuration.
  2. Click the Network Interfaces icon
  3. Choose eth0 and choose Static Configuration. Enter your IP address and subnet mask.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Click the Routing and Gateways icon.
  6. On the Default Router setting select Gateway and enter the IP address of the Gateway.
  7. Click Save.
  8. Click Hostname and DNS Client.
  9. Update your DNS servers.
  10. Click Save.
  11. Click Apply Configuration on the main Network Configuration page. 

Changing to DHCP Network Configuration

  1. In Webmin, select Networking > Network Configuration.
  2. Click the Network Interfaces icon
  3. Choose eth0 and choose From DHCP.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Click the Routing and Gateways icon.
  6. On the Default Router setting select None (or from DHCP).
  7. Click Save.
  8. Click Apply Configuration on the main Network Configuration page. 

Changing DNS Servers

  1. In Webmin, select Networking > Network Configuration.
  2. Click Hostname and DNS Client.
  3. Update your DNS servers.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Click Apply Configuration on the main Network Configuration page.
